Foundation Pattern


A foundation pattern, also known as a block pattern, a master pattern a basic pattern, or a slope, is a perfectly plain pattern made without seam or hem allowances. It is never used as a pattern for cutting a fabric for a garment.

A foundation pattern can be made by draping on forms and figures, by drafting form body measurements and modifying pattern on hand.


Skirt Pattern


Measurements:

  1. Waist-taken around the smallest waistline.

  1. Hips- taken around the fullest parts of the hips.

  1. Skirt Length- taken from the waistline down to the desired length of the skirt.
