Foundation Pattern
A foundation pattern, also known as a block pattern, a master pattern a basic pattern, or a slope, is a perfectly plain pattern made without seam or hem allowances. It is never used as a pattern for cutting a fabric for a garment.
A foundation pattern can be made by draping on forms and figures, by drafting form body measurements and modifying pattern on hand.
Skirt Pattern
Measurements:
- Waist-taken around the smallest waistline.
- Hips- taken around the fullest parts of the hips.
- Skirt Length- taken from the waistline down to the desired length of the skirt.

Measurements:

AG-1/2” apex distance minus 1/2”
GH- 11/4”-11/2”(DART)
AD-1/4 waist
FD-1/2”
